a visit

Karee was in town for a conference for work and she extended her trip to spend a few days with all of us. We were all very excited.

Janice, Karee and I all went out for dessert on Wednesday. It's always fun to get away and chat with my sisters. Karee came to our house on Thursday and spent the night. We had fun playing Settler's of Catan. We even taught Matt how to play and now he is hooked. On Friday we had fun doing girl's hair. All the kids love Karee but Ella especially loves her as she is her partner in all things fashionable. Karee's opinion on hair and clothes far outweighs mine in Ella's eyes.

Karee thought it would be fun to braid Ella's long locks up like Princess Leah in Star Wars. But somehow I was the one who did all the work. It did turn out pretty cool. In fact later that day we were out shopping and Ella was throwing a fit. Two ladies walked by and said, "Your hair is far to pretty to be throwing that kind of fit!"Of course Gracie couldn't be left out of the the hair fun. I love this picture with her cute little belly poking out. Helps me know she's still my squishy baby. Friday night we had a barbecue with Janice's family. Yummy food and games in their back yard including a jump rope contest where Tim is the undisputed champion. Saturday morning we rounded off our week of fun with a parade with all our favorites: lots of candy, marching bands, floats and horses.

We love visits from family to liven up our weekends!
