Matt's birthday fell just a few days after we got home with Grace so it was both busy and exciting. What an awesome birthday present - to get to be a big brother again! Matt was so excited that she came in time to celebrate with him. He had been hoping she would join our family before his birthday for weeks.
We had been planning on having a party with friends this year - Matt has been inviting people since about January. We didn't know when we would get Grace and how crazy life might be but we still wanted to have the party for him. So on Saturday just a few days after we got home we had a water party with friends and cousins. It was so easy to plan for and the kids just loved getting wet! We played all sorts of fun water games and everyone got wet, some more than others.
Later all the kids had a great time decorating cupcakes and opening up presents. I love this picture, boys are so goofy and fun!
Matt had so much fun just being a boy and being rowdy with all his friends. It was a great party!
Saturday night Grandma took us and the Whitmans - it was Tim's birthday too - out for b- day dinner to the Golden Corral - the boys's choice - definitely not mine. Those boys just loved being able to eat whatever they wanted. My personal favorite was Jon's main course of brownies and M&M's Yummy!Then on Sunday it was just the 5 of us (wow - that sounds a bit wierd!)
We had Matt's favorite dinner, spagetti, and since we had cupcakes the day before Matt opted for an apple crisp for his birthday cake. Much easier for me to make too.
We had a great weekend celebrating with our wonderful boy.
