Ella has been very excited about her birthday. She told Steve last night, "Ella birthday coming soon daddy!" This morning when I got her out of bed I said, "Who's a birthday girl?" And she proudly announced, "Me!"
She has been most excited about getting cake for her birthday so that is what we spent a good portion of our day doing - making a cake and decorating it, looking fondly at the cake, taking pictures, sneaking a cupcake at lunchtime...and of course it had to pink.
She had a wonderful time opening up all her presents too. We had all the presents wrapped and stacked on the piano. So she would carefully climb up, select a present and then delicately open it.
She got a lot of fun things that every two year old girl loves, like a PINK shake and go car. It made her squeal with delight.
Her favorite present was a Little People camping set. It has two little girls and a car and camper and all the camping accessories. Ella put the girls in their sleeping bags, put them in the camper to sleep and then would tell them "wake up girls" and then take them out of the sleeping bags. I was pretty impressed at how quickly she picked up on role playing with these cute toys. She loves them. We could hardly tear her away from playing, even after announcing CAKE several times. What fun days of play we have ahead!
She just seems so grown up to me today. I can hardly believe my baby is such a big girl. And she is so sweet and beautiful and precious to us.Happy birthday sweetheart! We love you!
