This summer has been so busy that I just haven't had the time or made the time to post. We have done so many things it seems best to use pictures to fill in the details of our fun summer.
We started the summer with a week at Grandma's at the first of June. We sent Steve back to Boise to work and the kids and I stayed to play for the week.
We spent a day helping Grandma and Grandpa plant their garden.
After a week of fun at Grandma's we came home and got back to our busy lives. I made a quilt for a charity auction, which was a lot of work but turned out beautiful.
And then we worked on various projects in our yard.. Steve and I built garden boxes and planted our garden - rather late this year - about the middle of June. But as you can see from these pictures it was still a success. We have been enjoying lettuce, zucchini, swiss chard, and tomatoes. And soon we will have beans, carrots, a pumpkin, squash and watermelon.
In the midst of all this work. Matt took swimming lessons the last two weeks of June. What a little fish he is. He learned lots this summer and is becoming a great swimmer.
And then before we knew it Matt's birthday arrived! Happy Birthday to our wonderful six year old!
We celebrated the day with lots of family. Grandma and Grandpa Garvin came to visit along with Dan and Mel and Jake and Karee. We had a joint birthday with Tim Whitman who turned 12 the same day.
Matt and I floated the Boise River with Grandma, Jake and Karee,and the Whitman's.
And Steve and Grandpa decided to stay home and start building a playhouse. Another fun project that has kept us busy this summer.
It was a very busy birthday weekend and then the Fourth of July was here. We went to a concert and fireworks at the Idaho Center which we all loved earlier in the week. Then on the 4th we had a fun day with our family, setting up our pool, going to the parade in Boise and then to the park for a picnic and fireworks. 
And our busy summer continued. For the next two weeks weeks, Steve's brother Gabe stayed with us while he started a new job and waited for his house to close.
We spent many afternoons at lunch in the park with friends, playing in our pool with friends and playing at friends' houses. Our neighborhood babysitting co-op was wonderful this summer.
We participated in the library summer reading program, reading lots of fun books and getting cool prizes.
And then near the end of July we went on our annual Garvin camp out for a week. The camp out was awesome! so much work to get there but so worth it. The weather was perfect, the bugs minimal, and the food was delicious! The kids even slept good - a rare event for camping. We all had a great time!

We have spent the month of August nearly as busy as June and July. We spent a week recovering from camp and catching up on all the work we missed while we were gone and then we started back in to fun again. Pool party days with both sets of cousins, bike rides, and more lunch days at the park, going to movies, and watching the Olympics, shopping for school supplies, scrapbooking, babysitting and trying to escape the heat ...Boy has it been a fun summer!

I was thinking a few weeks ago that there was so much I wanted to do this summer that we didn't get a chance to do but looking back now I can see that we have done plenty!

What a fun summer you had, I am glad to hear that someone else's was as busy as mine. All day school starts tomarrow!! :)
