goodbye to second grade

Second grade is over. What a year!

Matt had a great teacher this year, Mr. Elli. And Matt really worked hard to be a good student. He had his ups and downs but we were so happy to see him finish it off successfully.
He amazed us all when he was received the award for the fastest reader in the second grade. 233 WORDS PER MINUTE! We were only sad that we weren't there to see him get it! No one told us about it! It was awarded the day of our trip and both Steve and I were home packing and could have easily slipped over to the school had we known about it. grrr...

I did make it to the school for field day. Which for the first time in 10 years had to be held indoors because of cold and wet weather. It didn't seem to bother the kids too much. They still looked like they were having fun. Their gym teacher is so creative and wonderful she makes everything fun. So after a year of reading and writiting and 'rithmatic. We are ready for summer!

Good job on an awesome year Matt!

We're so proud of what a great student you are!
