tooth tales

Matt was sure he was the only kid left in first grade who hadn't lost a tooth yet. For months and months he has claimed several loose teeth. We were never sure. We would detect slight movement when we wiggled them but nothing close to loosing a tooth kind of loose. And then a few days after Christmas he talked again of loose teeth and again we checked not expecting much, but they were loose this time, so loose you could practically bend them straight out! These teeth needed to come out! But like most of us who fear pain, Matt wouldn't even listen to any ideas of how we might get them out. So we let him experiment with some his own ideas that night. Because despite his fear of pain, he really did want to loose that first tooth.

After these attempts and others he gave up and we moved on with our night
The next day while I was busy in our office Matt came running in shouting with pure delight - "look mom! I lost my tooth!" He was watching TV and snacking on an apple, not even thinking about his tooth, and out it popped! And a few days later on our trip to SLC for Karee's wedding out came the other while eating a twinkie. It must have been about to fall out on it's own if it came out while eating soft spongy cake! I guess we are lucky he didn't loose it in his sleep and choke on it.

Congrats buddy on another great milestone!
